Miele C3: The Cat & Dog Vacuum (Reviews/Ratings/Prices)

September 17th, 2020 | 4 min. read

By Steve Sheinkopf

The Miele C3 Cat & Dog is arguably the best vacuum to clean up after your pet. Then again, at $999,

it should be. In this article, you will learn more about the Miele C3 Cat & Dog and all its features and benefits.

You will also learn about all the tools like the  electric power nozzle, bare floor tool, handheld mini turbo brush, as well as the three standard accessories.

All of this culminates in an odd but strangely effective interesting video.

In the end, you will know whether this vacuum is worth the investment.

Miele Vacuums

All Miele C3 series units have a 1200 watt motor designed, engineered, and manufactured by Miele.

Its housing can withstand almost any type of abuse from my toddler to an aggrieved teenager with vacuum duty on a Friday night.

The strongest attribute to any Miele product is their attention to detail.

All are produced in one German factory down to the component level.

The vacuums are some of the most reliable products in the world because they have such a tight control of the process.

You should expect 15- 20 years, or more out of a Miele vacuum.

In the video below, you will see the Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog exhausting from top to bottom.

Conversely, most other units exhaust from the sides or the back, pushing hair and fine dust all over your home.

Miele C3 - Cat & Dog Features

Miele has one of the most powerful, yet quietest motors on the market.

This vac has six suction levels from low to high power so that you can remove pet hair from upholstery to deep pile carpet.

There is even a quiet setting if you don't want to wake the kids.

All these controls are easily accessible by foot controls.

Miele Cat & Dog Filtration

The Complete C3 Cat & Dog is equipped with an advanced filtration system.

This system consists of a six-ply poly-fiber dustbag, a pre-motor filter, and an active air exhaust filter containing charcoal for odor control.

Air FilterAir Filter

Your house won’t smell like your wet dog any more.

If you have allergies, Miele also offers a HEPA airclean filter providing filtration to .3 microns, which captures 99.95% of all viruses, bacteria, and particles.

You can easily change filters whenever wanted.

Differences Between the Miele Cat & Dog Canister Vacuums

Miele Vacuum (1)

They all do look the same. Red is the Cat N Dog color in the US.

There are four primary differences between the Classic C1, Blizzard CX1, and the Complete C3 Cat & Dog canister vacuums.

These differences are cleaning performance, dust capacity, cord length, warranty, and more advanced accessories.

The Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is Miele's first bagless vacuum.

The Complete C3 Cat & Dog has the largest capacity at 4.76 quarts.

All Miele Cat & Dog units feature a handheld brush designed to remove pet hair. You will find value in these brushes, especially if your pet sheds a lot.

Bagged Vs. Bagless Vacuums

Over the past several years, Dyson has made a big push on bagless vacs. Miele responded with their own bagless unit in 2018.

A case can be made for both bagged and bagless vacuums. Bagless can be less expensive because you do not have to buy the bags if the filters are maintained correctly.

The problem with bagless is when you have to empty it. The smaller particles can spread everywhere. Bagged vacuums are much more sanitary.

Miele C3 Cat & Dog Vacuum Tools

Parquet Twister Floorhead SBB 300-3 Accessories

I love this tool.

Then again, I have mostly hardwood floors and don't have a pet (yet). The Twister is a large flat suction tool. It can swivel, so it's great around chairs, sofas, and all your other furniture.

Electro Plus Floorhead SEB 228

You will use the Electrobrush on any type of carpets from low to high (even shag from the 70s).

This Floorhead is motorized providing cleaning on all carpet surfaces vs. suction only tools in some other Miele products.

Handheld Mini Turbo Brush STB 101

The Mini Turbo is a compact-sized air-driven turbo brush.

It is excellent for smaller, tighter spaces like car mats, stairs or

any upholstered surface.

Natural Hair Dusting Brush SSP10

SSP10 (1)

The dusting brush is great for hard surface cleaning like

end tables, baseboards, and ceiling fans.

Cobwebs are no match for this tool.

Crevice Tool

miele

The crevice tool can clean all those challenging places like

in between pillows and car seats.

Upholstery Tool

Upholsetry-Tool

This accessory is excellent for cleaning all your delicate upholstered

surfaces, as it uses suction and it's gentle agitation strips for removing dust, lint, and other objects.

Is that worth the $999.00 price tag? It's your call
