5 Reasons to Consider a Miele Dishwasher

June 2nd, 2011 | 1 min. read

Miele is the ultimate throwback. In a world of outsourcing, Miele manufactures 96.8% of its components in one German factory. In fact, the little rollers under the racks of the iconic Miele dishwasher are the only parts not manufactured by Miele.

In a previous post, we identified Miele as the most dependable brand, but such uncompromising quality has its costs. The Miele dishwasher starts at $1100, which far exceeds the average $399-$499 dishwasher price.

Following are the reasons to consider a Miele dishwasher:

  • 20 year average life.
  • Double insulated pump virtually guaranteed to never leak.
  • Plate Guard Plus: Plates are offset to never crack against each other during the wash, so china is safe to wash.
  • Separate Cutlery Tray (on Better models): Each piece of silverware is cradled in a separate tray. Thus, expensive flatware can be washed without scratching. It also leaves more room in the actual dishwasher as well.
  • Sophisticated Drying System (Better Models): Most dishwashers just use Jet Dry or a heating element to dry the dishes. Miele pulls the air from the outside into the dishwasher. The steam is then attracted to the cooler side walls and dissipated accordingly. The top of the line Miele dishwasher has a sensor, which also automatically adjusts the rinse aid and drying time as well.

Miele has always been a premium brand.  However, with the average life and repair record, it is an investment worth consideration.
