KitchenAid vs Bosch Stainless Appliance Packages (Reviews/Ratings)

May 21st, 2012 | 1 min. read

For years the appliance industry fought off what the auto industry has been doing for decades: Memorial day sales. However times are tough and with every manufacturer fighting for sales, rebates become borderline ridiculous around major shopping holidays. Nothing proves this point more than the package rebates offered by KitchenAid and Bosch.

Both brands are considered to be on the higher end of the appliance spectrum before you start venturing into the professional lines. It's also great from the store perspective as these brands are labeled as the leaders in their respective dishwasher categories. KitchenAid being the American household name, known for their quality and performance, Bosch being the European major brand that has dominated the dishwasher market with quality and efficiency.

Following are two similar packages that we will be running for Memorial day (through end of the month for that matter). You decide:

kitchenaid stainless package special may 2012         bosch stainless package special may 2012

KGRS206XSS - Gas Range
KUDE48FXSS - Dishwasher
KFIS27CXMS - Refrigerator
KHMS2040WS - Microwave

Retail: $5,699
- Rebates: $1,000
Final: $4,699

HGS7052U - Gas Range
SHX7ER55UC - Dishwasher
B26FT70SNS - Refrigerator
HMV8051U - Microwave

Retail: $6,239
- Rebates: 2,140
Final: $4,099

Both packages have self-cleaning gas ranges (electric available as well) with high-end dishwashers, full depth French door refrigerators, and over-the-range microwaves. KitchenAid has 5 burners on their range versus Bosch 4 and a little larger refrigerator, but Bosch offers cleaner styling and a stainless top on their range.

The biggest difference between the two is between the dishwashers. If you prefer more traditional warming option of an American dishwasher then KitchenAid is an excellent brand and the best American dishwasher on the market. However the Bosch dishwasher will heat the water hotter and offers a third rack.

Which ever path you decide on, just like when buying a car, it’s best to consider appliances around holidays and the end of months.
