Pandemic and Supply Shortages to 2024

COVID closed factories back in those dark times in 2020.  

Meanwhile, demand skyrocketed for any home good, whether it was Peloton, Weber, or Sub-Zero.

So manufacturers built extra capacity for demand that four years later is no longer there. The appliance industry now has excess capacity with far fewer buyers.

So, it's a battle amongst the brands and stores for your business. I'm sorry; I love that picture.

Thus, pricing will drop for almost every manufacturer, or they risk losing your business.

I have been at Yale since 1986 and haven’t seen rebates like this ever.

Triple the Tax; then you also have additional rebates (seriously).

Rebate Number 1: 6.25%

We have competitors large and small, so we start early on July 29th with an instant 6.25% on the following participating brands: Bosch, Cafe, GE Appliances, KitchenAid, GE Profile, LG, LG Studio, and Samsung.

You will save the tax on all items with these brands under $2,500.

Rebate Number 2: 6.25% with Yale Card

We will also match the 6.25% discount if you pay by using a Yale Card on the same brands.

You can use your existing card or apply beforehand by clicking this link.

You also have 0% financing options as well in addition to the 6.25% discount.

The limit is $2,500 for an item like the MA Tax Holiday.

You can have unlimited appliances under $2,500.

Again, just on the participating brands: Bosch, Café, GE Appliances, KitchenAid, GE Profile, LG, LG Studio, and Samsung.

Rebate Number 3: Mail-In 6.25%

This is a good news/bad news rebate.

You have to mail in a rebate before September 9th and take delivery by October 11th to qualify.

You may dislike mail-in rebates

Accepting an order before it is needed is also inconvenient.

HOWEVER, unlike the other rebates, there is no limit of $2,500.

So, you will receive a 6.25% rebate on any qualifying brand.

You do not want to pay tax on that two-compressor Bosch refrigerator for $3,400?

Now you don’t.

You now have a tax-free mail-in rebate on items worth over $2,500.

Fine Print: You have to mail in the serial numbers by September and take delivery by October 9th.

Best Brands to Consider

None of the high-end brands like Sub-Zero, Thermador, Monogram, Miele, and BlueStar are participating.

Then again, most of their appliances are over $2,500.

Buy those brands on Tax-Free Weekend under $2,500 like dishwashers, microwaves, and accessories.

So the best to consider are Bosch, Café, GE Appliances, KitchenAid, GE Profile, LG, LG Studio, and Samsung.

Let's look at some packages and then individual items.

Bosch

You have some great rebates on this Bosch package.  

Both the gas convection slide-in and two compressor French door are not normally eligible for rebate.s

Except now. You have the $521.87 rebate plus a number of Bosch and Yale package rebates.

The dishwasher is their 42-decibel CrystalDry dishwasher with their new Power Scrub.

This package is $8,853.96 after tax and is now $6,319.49.

Café Appliances

Cafe is a great package with a different look from GE. It has a counter-depth refrigerator with Keurig coffee in the dispenser and a gas front control with a baking drawer underneath.

The over-the-range microwave is convection, allowing you to cook as a microwave, convection oven, or both in combination to save time without that rubbery microwave texture.

The matching dishwasher has its bottle wash and targeted sprays for silverware.

The Cafe package is $8,260.27 after tax but is now $6,401.27 after rebates.

GE Profile

GE Profile offers you some great appliances at more affordable prices.

The French door refrigerator is huge at 27 cubic feet. The freestanding range has 5 burners with two high-output burners.

The dishwasher is similar to Café with bottle washes and targeted sprays with a lower decibel rating of 42.

So you won't hear it.

And the ubiquitous over-the-range microwave offered in every package.

This GE Profile package is $5,420 but is now $4,096.38.

Stop here for a second.  

You will always have a few rebates during the year.  

Also, you do have to apply and pay with a Yale Card as well as take delivery before October 9th.

KitchenAid

KitchenAid is the upscale brand from Whirlpool.

You have a 25 cubic foot French door refrigerator.

The stove is deceptively large. In fact, it's one of the largest you can buy.

The dishwasher is the quietest you can buy at 39 decibels without spending $1000 more for a Bosch Benchmark at 38 decibels.

Then, of course, you have their over-the-range microwave.

This package is $7193.94 and is now almost $2,000 off at $5,373.33.

LG

You can buy LGs 28 cubic foot French door.

 By the way, I grew up in a family of five, and we had a 23-cubic-foot top mount.

You can choose an electric or gas freestanding range.

Their dishwasher is quiet at 44 decibels. It uses steam to power out tough stains and really works well.

Plus, yet another over-the-range microwave.

The price normally is $4,218.71 but is $3,396.85 after all the ponderous rebates.

Individual Products

Looking for a single appliance. Let's look at a few popular appliances.

Washers

We have been looking at appliance packages, but laundry probably has the most rebates.

WF50BG8300AV                                          WF53BB8700AV

We have these Samsung washers on sale, but after rebates, the washer is below $500.

LG's most popular front-load washer, with its Turbo 360 sprays turning any cycle to 30 minutes, is below $750.

If you want a top load, the GE Profile has a huge capacity and an auto dispenser so you can customize it below $600.

The Profile front load is the best from GE with their Microban and odor block technology to keep the machine free from mold and mildew.  

Capacity is huge and you have their 32-load auto dispenser.

Dishwashers

The Bosch 300 series at $999 is now $619 after rebates. The 800 series with CrystalDry and PowerBoost is now under $1000 from almost $1,300.

That 39 DB KitchenAid and the LG steam dishwasher are both below $800.

Refrigerators

The LG Counter Max is counter depth and 26.5 cubic foot yet doesn't protrude from your cabinets. It is listed as on sale in many places at $1,999 with the dispenser.

Thats  $2,108.37 on sale or you can buy it here for $1,734.37.

Their larger 28 cubic foot is less expensive. It's $1,799 or $1,897.44 after tax, but $1,560.93 during the Tax Weekend Holiday.

Ranges

You can buy self-cleaning convection ranges as low as $737.1 after rebates.
