Wolf Dual Fuel vs All Gas 36 Inch Professional Range (Reviews/Ratings)

December 14th, 2010 | 1 min. read

By Steve Sheinkopf

You are looking for a 36 inch pro range, and see these two Wolfs (or Wolves). The price difference is $3000+....But what is the associated gain?

They both have professional style burners.  The less expensive all gas is more powerful at 16,000 BTU Vs 15,000 for the dual fuel.  Wolf has a great simmer with a low of 500 BTU.  They both have grill and/or griddle options.

The real difference is in the oven

1. Electric twin fan convection instead of single fan gas. Electric is a better, more even baking oven than gas.  The electric oven has twin fans for even better heat circulation and different modes of cooking

2. Self cleaning versus manual cleaning.  The electric version gas the ability to heat to 900 degrees and incinerate food(like most regular ovens)

3. Clock and timer:  The electric oven has the same functionality as a regular residential range, whereas the all gas has zero functionality like a gas range

4. Light up knobs, so you can see the temperature without squinting or bending.
