Today’s take on Craftsman style has open floor plans, reclaimed wood floors and cabinetry, exposed wood beams, and the use of natural stone are all key elements of “Craftsman Style”. Some people just think “Mission Style” when they think “Craftsman”, although there are some similarities they are different.

Lighting fixtures made of unfinished metals and interesting shapes could qualify as Craftsman style. In this article, we’ll look at a few suggestions for your Craftsman home, and show you some Craftsman interior as well.

Craftsman Style

The use of the term “Craftsman Style” is based from the “Arts and Crafts” movement of the late 1800’s to early 1900’s period of design and architecture. People got tired of the opulence of the Victorian age and returned to handcrafted furniture and homes with simple lines and natural materials.

New Craftsman style still holds most of these influences with lots of natural accents, wood and simple colors and decor.
