Best Washer Buying Guide

I finally get it.

After years of touting the benefits of a front-load washer, we moved to a place with a top-load washer.

It's one of the reasons I rewrote our 46-page Washer Buying Guide because you have so many options now.

Reliability is about the same for both machines. You can read about how the brands stack up in our reliability posts.

However, you now have different machines to consider:

  • Top-Load Washer
  • Hybrid with an Impeller or an Agitator
  • Front-Load Washer

In the guide, we explain the differences between all of them. Still, don't buy the hybrid with the impeller.

You will also learn all about the best brands, models, and features to consider.

The Washer Buying Guide is always free, like the rest of our guides, worksheets, and videos.

Regarding my experience, I like the basic top load better than I thought I would. It's easier to retrieve the clothes in and out of the machine.

However, I do miss the front load. I could stuff more clothes and use far less detergent. The washer also spins the clothes drier.

Maybe the hybrid is a good combination of both. Perhaps in my next apartment.
