Thermador is part of BSH Home Appliances Corporation, a fully owned subsidiary of BSH Bosch und Siemens, the third largest appliance manufacturer in the world. The Thermador brand specializes in cooking appliance equipment such as ovens, ranges and cooktops.

In 1998, BSH acquired Thermador (Huntington Beach, CA) and continues to manufacture Thermador Professional Series cooktops and ventilation hoods at a facility in La Follette, TN. BSH also built a manufacturing facility in New Bern, NC where dishwashers and cooktops are built.

Bosch significantly improved product quality while effectively manufacturing in the US (unusual for a foreign company). If that’s not impressive enough, personalities such as Julia Child used Thermador oven in her critically acclaimed PBS TV series, and Alice from The Brady Bunch cooked with Thermador appliances back in 1970’s. If Julia Child and Alice Nelson both used Thermador ovens, for me, that’s pretty compelling.

AB Electrolux (commonly known as Electrolux) is a Swedish multi-national home appliance manufacturer headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. It is the world's second-largest home appliance maker by revenue (after Whirlpool). Its products sell under a variety of brand names including its own and are primarily major appliances and vacuum cleaners. When Electrolux rolled out there new line of appliances, they brought on America's poster child for successful multi-taskers Kelly Ripa, in order to connect with the on-the-go type of women ages 35-54 who are juggling career, family, and other activities, along with a love of entertaining.

Electrolux is a mode driven, gadget oriented product currently manufactured in Mexico.

Now for what you have all been waiting for…the ovens.

As I mentioned before, Thermador has been making ovens for many years and has taken the time to perfect their craft. Thermador has had one of the best service records for the past two years. Aside from having the largest oven, they have many useable features to insure your food is cooked properly. Pure convection, temperature probe, Bread proof, dehydrate mode and a few other special features below…

Electrolux ovens are rather new to the American oven scene, but have a popular modern look with their Wave Touch display. When not in use the control panel is completely blacked out for a sleek clean look. As you open the door you notice the blue interior and the gleaming bright lights illuminating the “Perfect Turkey” you have roasted with little effort.

From a price and features standpoint, Electrolux seems like a better deal. Thermador does have their "1, 2, Free" promotion for a free $1,200 dishwasher with the purchase of a wall oven and cooktop. The service incident rates also on the Thermador brand in general is much lower than Electrolux by about 15%. So it really depends what is more valuable to you.
