SMEG vs Bertazzoni 36 Inch Gas Range (Reviews/Ratings)

May 1st, 2012 | 1 min. read

By Steve Sheinkopf

I met Antonio Bertazzoni last week. His family owns SMEG. Huh? SMEG and Bertazzoni are competitors and cousins in the same Italian city. I shouldn't be confused. I split from my cousins, Yale Electric, 10 years ago (amicably, still love those guys).

Although my cousins and I compete only marginally in lighting, SMEG and Bertazzoni compete with very similar products. From a specification and aesthetic viewpoint, they are nearly identical...except in one area.

I chose to compare a 36 inch range. This size has been a nightmare for consumers caught between an awful looking product and the expense of a professional range.
