The Best Induction Cooktop in Boston (Reviews/Ratings/Prices)

Before you read this post, I am not advocating spending $5,000 on an induction cooktop. You can spend $999 for an induction cooktop, and be perfectly happy. In fact, you can spend $1,700 and buy the whole range with a warming drawer and convection oven.

This Thermador induction cooktop is clearly superior to any cooking product we sell including professional gas. It is also the future of cooking. I anticipate all cooktops and stoves to have the same features within 5 to 10 years (hopefully sooner).

Induction is a magnetic heat where the pan does the actual cooking.

  • Less residual heat so there is less heat in the kitchen and less need to buy an expensive professional hood.
  • Induction is the most child safe as the cooktop will only be activated when sensing metal.
  • More responsive and instantaneous simmer (like gas).
  • Faster boil, yes even faster than the fastest 22,000 BTU pro gas burner.

The Thermador has the distinct advantage of having no demarcated burners. Any pan can operate anywhere in conjunction with any other cookware and still function independently.
