Bosch Benchmark Gas Slide-In Range (Reviews/Ratings/Prices)

For the last few Sundays, we decided to briefly introduce a product through video. Today is about the new Bosch Benchmark Gas Slide-in Range. Read more about the New Bosch Benchmark line. Links to related articles are also provided below.

The Bosch Benchmark Gas Slide-in would be good just by default. Bosch only offered dual fuel (gas top/electric bottom) until the introduction of this range. That is pretty hard to believe.

Let’s Look at the Range

FRESUCLNATKW

Bosch HGIP054UC - $2699

First, this range can fit almost any freestanding or slide-in installation. Most slide-ins need to be notched at the sides or need to be installed custom. In other words, you can install this range in any space without modification.

The Benchmark is 73,000 BTUs including a 20,000 BTU power burner. 20,000 BTU’s are hotter than most professional ranges. If you cook for a big family or just want some speed for lobsters and stews, 20,000 BTUs will be more than sufficient.

It’s a pretty functional range with easy to use controls. It also features European convection (element behind the fan insuring consistent temperature) and a warming drawer. Electrolux and GE Cafe has a second oven in their slide-in, so the Bosch is behind a bit in that area.

The price of $2,699 is competitive with the other brands. Bosch, however, traditionally has better packages of 10% off during the year. Reliability is always a sticking point with us, because we have 21 service techs on the road fixing problems. Bosch has been a good brand in the past. We will see if their new line performs as well.
