GE Profile vs. Bosch Dishwashers (Reviews / Ratings / Prices)

by Stan Pendrak

You look at higher-end dishwashers, and they all seem the same. They have stainless tubs, more cycles than ever and have decent to unbelievable quietness. In fact, it may be a bummer to replace a dishwasher, but the new ones are much quieter.

It wasn't always this way. Bosch and Miele changed the market in the early 1990s with a better dishwasher. For awhile, they owned the premium dishwashers. American companies like KitchenAid responded with competitive products years later.

Most Powerful Freestanding Gas Ranges (Reviews/Ratings/Prices)

by Jessica Petrino

A freestanding range is owned by 90 percent of the American range buying population. Many freestanding ranges have a backguard containing the cooktop and oven controls.

This article will address the most powerful free standing gas ranges in the appliance industry. The power of gas ranges is measured in British thermal units, more commonly referred to as BTUs. This unit measures the amount of heat for the surface burners.

Ten years ago, the average burner power was 10,000 to 12,000 BTUs on the high end, but now they are far stronger. You do not need a professional range for high output burners anymore.

Slide-In vs. Freestanding

This is a frequently asked question. Slide-ins have the controls on the front. They also sit on top of the countertops to eliminate seams, so liquid, grease and food cannot drip between the range and the cabinet. Freestanding is less pricey for the similar features.

Next, I would proceed to prepare the rest of my meal, going into the refrigerator to get ingredients, cutting vegetables, and perhaps a quick phone call to my parents before the water even started to boil.

If you choose to switch to induction cooking do not be fooled by your former cooking methods. You will no longer be able to put butter on the pan and walk away to collect ingredients from the refrigerator, induction heats your pans very quickly!
