Bosch 100 Series Dishwasher Review: Worth It in 2026?

The Short Version

The new Bosch 100 fixed most of what was wrong with it: an all-stainless tub, a full-weight door, and AquaStop leak protection, starting at $729.

It is reliable, with a 7.8% service rate that trails only Miele among the brands we carry. But it still runs loud at 48 dB, the racks are shallow, and there is no third rack.

Buy the $729 front-control model for reliable, low-cost cleaning. At $949, the step-up 100 adds nothing but the built-in look, so unless you need panel-ready, a KitchenAid 324 gives you a quieter machine with a third rack for less, and the Bosch 300 adds a third rack for about $150 more.

The Bosch 100 was my least favorite dishwasher Bosch made.

Last year it had a plastic bottom. The leak detection wasn't up to the rest of the line. Add a lighter door, shallower racks, and more noise, and it was the one to skip.

Most of that has changed.

The new 100 has an all-stainless tub and Bosch's AquaStop leak protection. At $729, it's a machine I'd put on the floor and recommend.

The step-up version runs $949. That one I'd still skip, except in one case.

Let me show you what changed, how it holds up on our service data, and exactly where that one exception comes in.

Bosch 100 Series History: From Ascenta to Now

Bosch-100-Series-Dishwashers

For years, Bosch called this dishwasher the Ascenta. How these names get chosen is beyond me. But the Ascenta was never quite a Bosch. It had a plastic bottom, shallow racks, and a lighter door.

It felt like a different brand.

A few years ago, Bosch split it into three: the 100, the 100 Premium, and the 100 Plus.

This year is different.

The 100 is finally a real Bosch.

Same stainless tank, and wash and drying close to the better 300 model

But it still isn't worthy of a line that calls itself the quietest dishwasher brand.

What Did Bosch Improve on the New 100 Series?

⚡ Quick Answer: Bosch replaced the plastic bottom with an all-stainless tub, added AquaStop leak protection, and gave the 100 the same core wash system as the rest of the line.

AquaStop Leak Protection

Bosch-Dishwasher-AquaStop-Leak-Protection-System

The 100 now includes AquaStop, Bosch's leak system.

A sensor watches for leaks. If it detects water where water shouldn't be, the machine shuts down and drains itself automatically.

That matters most in a condo with someone living below you, or when your kitchen sits on a second floor. A leak that would have soaked a ceiling gets caught before it starts.

PrecisionWash and the Core Bosch Wash System

Bosch-100-Series-Stainless-Steel-Tub-and-PrecisionWash-Arm

You get the core Bosch wash system: two wash levels with a sprinkler arm up top, the same setup as the rest of the line.

That includes PrecisionWash, the sensors that read the load and set the cycle for you.

Bosch 100 Series Drying System

The 100 dries the way most European dishwashers do. It uses the leftover heat from the wash, plus a rinse aid such as Jet-Dry, to pull the moisture off your dishes.

Is the Bosch 100 Series Reliable?

⚡ Quick Answer: Yes. Bosch dishwashers carry a 7.8% first-year service rate, third best among the brands we sell behind only Miele and Bosch's own Benchmark line, and well below the 8.8% dishwasher category average.

Bosch one of the most reliable dishwasher brand Yale sells. Only 7.8% of the Bosch dishwashers we sold needed service in 2025.

That rate comes out of the 33,190 service calls Yale logged across all brands in 2025. We know what breaks because we're the ones fixing it.

The Most Reliable Dishwasher Brands: Full Service Report

The following service rates are based on a minimum of 150 units sold per brand and over 7,000 dishwashers tracked within the first 12 months. Lower is better.

  Service Rates
Miele 5.6%
Bosch Benchmark 7.7%
Bosch 7.8%
Thermador 8.1%
KitchenAid 8.2%
GE 8.9%
GE Profile 10.3%
LG 11.6%
Fisher & Paykel 16.6%
Café 16.6%
Average Service Rate 8.8%

Only Miele and Bosch's own Benchmark line come in ahead of standard Bosch, and both cost considerably more. Miele dishwashers start at $1,599.

So if you want a reliable dishwasher and want to save money, the entry 100 at $729 gets you there for a lot less.

At that number, this is a competitive dishwasher for the first time in years.

Three Things to Know Before You Buy

⚡ Quick Answer: Bosch did not deepen the basic racks, and they did not fix the noise. The 100 runs at 48 dB, four decibels above the 44 dB that is standard on quieter machines.

Three carryovers from the old model are worth knowing before you commit.

The Racks Are Shallow

The 100 Series racks are still shallow. Shallow enough that you wonder what fits up there. Wine glasses don't.

So if you're buying any 100 series model, look at that upper rack in person first.

It Is Louder Than the Standard

Quiet-Bosch-Dishwasher-Low-Silence-Rating

The 100 still runs at 48 decibels.

The standard for a quiet dishwasher is around 44 dB, so at 48 you will hear this one in an open kitchen, over the TV.

In an open floor plan that matters.

Unless you do what I do, and run it in the middle of the night.

No Third Rack for Silverware

Bosch-Third-Rack-500-800-Series

At $729, you wouldn't expect one. But over $900, a third rack is almost standard, and the $949 Bosch still skips it.

I like the third rack, by the way, and have one in my dishwasher at home.

It lifts the silverware out of the basket, which frees the bottom rack for big pots and casserole dishes.

For a dishwasher under $1,000, none of this is a dealbreaker.

At $729, you get a good price, good reliability, and a basic feature set.

At $949, though, the reasons to buy the Bosch 100 Series start to fall apart, except for one: at $949, it is the least expensive panel-ready dishwasher we sell.

If you're a builder buying twenty of them, that matters. And if you're over budget and don't mind the noise, it's still not a bad option.

Let's see how the Bosch 100 Series compares to a similarly priced KitchenAid and Bosch's better 300 Series.

What Models Are in the Bosch 100 Series?

⚡ Quick Answer: The Bosch 100 Series is one dishwasher offered in several finishes and control styles. Every one shares the same all-stainless tub, AquaStop, PrecisionWash, PureDry drying, 12 place settings, and 48 dB operation.

Every Bosch level shares the same stainless tub, the same PrecisionWash wash system, and the same 7.8% reliability.

Within the 100 Series itself, though, the differences are smaller than the price suggests.

The 100 is really one dishwasher offered in several finishes and control styles. The wash system, the noise level, and the racks stay the same across all of them.

The Difference in the 100 Series

What the extra $220 buys is the look: front controls on the door face at around $729 versus top controls or panels.

We will return to that version later.

The dishwasher itself is identical.

  • Finishes: white, black, and fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, plus a panel-ready version that takes a custom cabinet front.

  • Control styles: front control (controls on the door face, with a recessed handle) around $729, or top control and panel-ready (controls hidden on the top edge, or a custom cabinet front) around $949.

  • Shared features: all-stainless tub, 24/7 AquaStop leak protection, PrecisionWash sensors, PureDry condensation drying, 12 place settings, standard racks, and Home Connect Wi-Fi.

Bosch 100 vs. KitchenAid KDFS324: Which Should You Buy?

⚡ Quick Answer: At the $949 price of the step-up Bosch, the KitchenAid 324 is the better buy. It is much quieter at 39 dB, adds a third rack, and costs about $100 less, with reliability nearly even.

If you were about to spend $949 on the step-up Bosch 100, look at the KitchenAid 324 Series first.

On our service data, KitchenAid runs an 8.2% service rate, less than half a point behind Bosch's 7.8%. Buying a single machine, that difference is effectively even.

Both are reliable.

The KitchenAid KDFS324 wins on the details that you notice every day.

It runs at 39 dB, so you will not hear it the way you hear the 100, and it costs around $849, roughly $100 under the step-up Bosch.

KitchenAid-KDFS324SPS-Rack-System

It also has a third rack for silverware, which the 100 does not. That frees up the space below so you can fit pots and pans on the bottom rack.

Bosch 100 vs. Bosch 300 Series: Is the Step-Up Worth It?

⚡ Quick Answer: It is worth it only if you want a third rack and a quieter run. The Bosch 300 Series ($1,099) costs about $150 more than the $949 100 model and adds a third rack plus quieter operation at 46 dB.

If a third rack is the feature you are after and you would rather stay with Bosch, there is a simple answer.

For about $150 more than the $949 model, the Bosch 300 Series adds a third rack and runs a bit quieter at 46 dB.

It is one of the most popular dishwashers we sell, and the jump from the step-up 100 to the 300 is small for what you gain.

The $949 100 Series gives you no functional upgrade over the $729 model. So if you want a third rack and a quieter run, the Bosch 300 is the more sensible place to spend that money.

How the Bosch 100 Compares

Here is how these dishwashers compare:

Feature Bosch 100 Series KitchenAid KDFS324 Bosch 300
Price $729-$949 $849 $1,099
Noise 48 dB 39 dB 46 dB
Third rack No Yes Yes
Service rate 7.8% (Bosch) 8.2% 7.8% (Bosch)
What the price buys Front controls, hidden controls, or a panel-ready front Quieter run, third rack Third rack, quieter run
Best for You want reliable Bosch cleaning at a low price You want quiet and a third rack for less You want a third rack and prefer Bosch

Choose the $729 front-control Bosch 100 if you want reliable, no-frills cleaning at the lowest price.

Choose the KitchenAid 324 if you would otherwise pay $949 for the top-control Bosch and want a quieter machine with a third rack for less.

Choose the Bosch 300 if you want that third rack and prefer to stay in the Bosch line.

The Verdict on the Bosch 100 Series

⚡ Quick Answer: Buy the $729 front-control 100 Series for reliable, low-cost cleaning. Skip the $949 versions unless you specifically need the built-in look.

So our advice is different from what you probably expect.

If you're looking for an inexpensive dishwasher and don't mind a shallow rack, the 100 Series is a real option now, with an all-stainless tub and leak detection.

That is worth noting. However, at $949 you can do better, both in the kitchen and on the wash itself. Yet, it's still an inexpensive way to panelize your dishwasher.
