A Yelper once called us "a rich man's Home Depot." It bothered me until I thought about it. Yes, we sell Sub-Zero, La Cornue, and Miele. Home Depot and Lowe's don't sell upscale brands. This is not a knock on Box Stores. I shop in them myself.
However, we do sell the vast majority in affordable luxury and lower-priced commodity brands like Samsung, Whirlpool, GE, and LG.
I never wanted to sell a bad product because it was cheap. People deserve better. Also, we have to fix it free on a warranty, so it's not purely idealistic.
That's why I think Beko's entry-level front control dishwasher is intriguing. You may think you need to spend $600-800 for a good dishwasher, but that's not true. The Beko DUT25401X dishwasher is only $499.
It's a nice looking unit with exceptional features for under $500. If it proves to be reliable (and it should), other dishwasher brands, like Samsung and Bosch, will have to recreate their products to compete.
In this article, you will learn who Beko is, the features of this dishwasher, and some necessary comparisons to Samsung's and Bosch's entry-level dishwashers.
Beko may have a German name, but it's Turkish. They are well known in Europe and a major brand. In the US, For dishwashers, they produce the Blomberg brand. They also manufacture dishwashers for Viking.
This dishwasher has some pretty extensive features for $499. It is all stainless steel - not plastic or a hybrid of plastic and stainless like all other brands' dishwashers under $500.
You also have an adjustable rack and three levels of wash action like most premium brands.

There is also a wide array of cycles like heavy, normal, quick, express, and rinse and hold. You also have options, like half load, a sanitize to heat the water for better scouring power, and an extra rinse.
At 48 DBs, it's quieter than many comparable machines. Forty-four decibels is considered quiet. You may hear it faintly.
Now how does it stack up with a Samsung or Bosch?
Both of those machines are stainless steel with plastic bottoms and not stainless steel like Beko's. Both are louder at 50 for the Bosch and 51 DBs for the Samsung.
Samsung does have a third rack for silverware and a delay for up to 9 hours. Bosch has the cycle for crystal and china the others do not have as well as a 24-hour delay.

Beko is worth consideration for two reasons, even though it's unknown in the US. First, the name is well recognized in Europe.
More importantly, the next better set of features in a dishwasher will cost $200-250 more.
