Compact Laundry
Condo or city living space is at a premium. Making room for full size washers and dryers difficult if not impossible. Compact laundry generally refers to 24 inch washers and dryers. This size is convenient for stacking in closets or placing side by side in a standard 24 inch kitchen cabinet.
Almost all compact laundry is built and/or engineered in Europe. The Europeans typically have smaller kitchens and living spaces, so compact laundry is a staple. Since these machines are only available in electric models, gas hook-up is not necessary. Compact laundry are also popular in urban areas like Boston and Cambridge.

Blomberg vs Asko Compact Washing Machines
I was a big Asko fan, but the company has recently been disconnected by being footballed to so many different companies. The product has suffered a bit. Blomberg seems to be a good company.
Another reason for the tentative recommendation is the dearth of products in this segment. I will really like Blomberg when we sell more. Until then, there is not much choice. Btw, we know you are reading this from Istanbul :)
