Every year, we head to Vegas for the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, hoping to discover exciting new products and trends.
This year felt different.
You’ll come across some interesting innovations—if they actually make it to market (which is a big if).
But first, let’s start with some general observations about what you can expect in the next six to twelve months.
KBIS 2025: The Biggest Kitchen Appliance Trends
1. A Surge in Brand Choices
You now have an almost overwhelming number of options from previously unknown brands.
Among them, one standout is Venzini—perhaps because I have a soft spot for The Princess Bride.
2. Bold Colors Are In
After years of being limited to stainless steel, you can now choose virtually any color you want.
Even KitchenAid has stepped up, introducing four new colors. Yet, the real standout at the show was True.
And if you’re looking for more variety, plenty of brands now offer appliances in a full spectrum of colors.
3. Wood Accents Are Making a Comeback

Wood is making a comeback as a design element in appliances and kitchens.
I’ve always thought matching wood tones was a challenge, but this time, it feels different.
More choices are never a bad thing.

4. The Rise of French and Luxury Ranges
We’ve long carried La Cornue, but now, restaurant-style island ranges are available from brands like Officine Gullo and L’Atelier Paris.

These luxury ranges bring a professional-grade cooking experience to high-end kitchens.
5. More Downdraft Ventilation Options (For Better or Worse)
I’m not a fan of downdraft ventilation. Smoke naturally rises, and a proper 24-inch-deep hood is the best way to capture it.

A downdraft system forces smoke and grease downward, running through long ducts before exhausting outside—not the most efficient setup.
If you’re designing a kitchen island, consider placing your sink in the middle instead.
The Big Takeaway: More Choice
The key trend this year? More choice. Whether it’s color, materials, or new product categories, the industry is giving consumers more ways to personalize their kitchens.
Now, let’s dive into the best new appliances of 2025.
10 Best New Appliances From KBIS 2025
1. Qoldfusion Walk-In Refrigerator Freezer
And now, for the most innovative product at KBIS.
Qoldfusion (yes, that’s spelled right) is a walk-in refrigerator and freezer for the home. It's a game-changer for food storage.

I love the inventor, Dale Seiden. He is one of the boldest innovators in our industry with boundless, quirky energy.
- He was behind the Lynx Professional Grill before selling the company.
- Then, he founded Alfresco - and sold that too.
- After that, he launched an e-bike company.
- Now, he’s tackling refrigeration storage.
The Qoldfusion unit is seriously impressive, featuring:
- A full refrigerator and freezer
- A grab-and-go section for quick access
- An outdoor drink dispenser for easy entertaining
Plus, it comes in multiple sizes to fit different spaces.
2. SKS 36-Inch Induction Range
Finally, SKS is introducing a 36-inch professional induction range to the market:

The Thermador Freedom cooktop lets you place a pot anywhere on the surface. If you move the pot, the cooktop automatically adjusts to the new location and keeps the settings intact.
Now, SKS is bringing that same technology to a 36-inch induction range - coming soon (hopefully).
Here are some of the best features of the SKS 36-Inch CookZone Free Induction Pro Range:
- CookZone Free Cooking Surface
- Supports Up to 5 Cookware Pieces
- French Top Mode
- Boiling Alarm
- LED Indicator
- Gourmet AI with Internal Camera
- Time-Lapse Monitoring
- Steam Combi & Sous Vide Cooking
3. Summit 24-Inch Induction Range
Finding a decent 24-inch range is like buying outdoor cabinets: it's nearly impossible.
And if you’re looking for a 24-inch induction range? Forget about it.
But now, Summit (a manufacturer based in New Jersey) is stepping up to make the first-ever 24-inch induction range.

Hopefully, more brands will follow.
4. Challenger Outdoor Cabinets
Buying an outdoor grill setup can be frustrating.
Either the cabinets look terrible and fall apart, or they’re super expensive.
Challenger offers a solid middle ground - marine-grade cabinets that are durable, stylish, and reasonably priced.
They come in a variety of styles and sizes, making them a practical option for outdoor kitchens.
I’m even considering putting one in my backyard.
5. KitchenAid’s New Style and Colors
About 30 years ago, I told a KitchenAid rep, “You might want to consider making stainless steel appliances.”
At the time, Frigidaire had already introduced stainless steel in an affordable luxury kitchen package.
Their response? “We think it’s a trend that will go away.”
Fast forward, and KitchenAid has barely changed its signature stainless look - until now.
At KBIS, they launched new colors, including what I think is a greenish-blue, along with updated handles similar to Café’s design.

Green was the trending color two years ago, but from my 90 years in the lighting business, I can tell you - green was always the slowest seller… unless it was for a pool table.
6. Caliber Grill
The Caliber is already a stunning grill, but now they’ve introduced an all-griddle model.
One of its best features? The lid disappears completely when pulled down, giving it a sleek, seamless look.
With new ownership under True, the grill now comes in 14 powder-coated colors—a bold move for outdoor kitchens.
7. True 90-Pound Ice Maker
Looking at this unit, I’m reminded of all the great parties I wasn’t invited to.

With this machine, you can make up to 90 pounds of ice.
True has long been a leader in commercial icemakers, but over the years, they’ve introduced similar high-capacity models for home use.
8. Hisense All-Refrigerator and Freezer
Hisense is a massive Chinese manufacturer. They also own Asko.
Their latest refrigerator-freezer units are completely convertible, meaning you can set them to be:
- All refrigerator
- All freezer
- A combination of both
Personally, I’d probably stick with the standard fridge-freezer setup, but I like knowing the flexibility is there - just in case.
9. L’Atelier Paris Gold Pro Range

The French are known for designing beautiful ranges across nearly every brand.
La Cornue once crafted a carbon fiber range front for an F1 driver who wanted it to match his car.
A gold range might be a bit too flashy for some, but it’s impressive that it can be made.
10. Thrill Glass Frosting
I have fond memories of drinking ice-cold Michelobs from frosty glasses at Madigan’s on Monday nights back in college.
And in New Orleans, a cold beer is always a good thing.
Now, you don’t have to stash your mugs in the freezer. You just buy a Thrill, a flash-freeze unit that instantly chills your glassware.

Sure, you can live without it, but it’s a nice addition to any home bar.
The only caveat? You can burn your hand if you leave it near the dispenser for too long. It’s not something you’d typically do, but it’s worth mentioning.
Honorable Mention: LG Induction Cooktop
Here’s a look at LG’s new induction cooktop.

You can’t even see it - because the countertop itself is the cooking surface.

It’s an interesting concept, but it’s still in the design stages. Whether it actually makes it to market remains to be seen.

Final Thoughts: KBIS 2025’s Big Takeaways
This year’s KBIS was all about choice - whether in color, customization, or cutting-edge innovation.
From restaurant-style ranges to futuristic refrigeration, brands are pushing boundaries to redefine how kitchens look and function.
Some of these innovations, like the QoldFusion walk-in fridge and SKS’s free-movement induction range, could revolutionize home kitchens.
Others, like the LG invisible induction cooktop, might never make it past the prototype stage.
The big question remains: Which of these products will actually hit the market?
As manufacturers continue to listen to consumers, expect even more flexibility, personalization, and tech-driven design in the kitchens of tomorrow.
What do you think? Which of these new appliances would you want in your home?
