Sub-Zero is introducing a new line of integrated refrigerators with new sizes as well as upgraded refrigerators. It should be noted that Sub-Zero was the first company to manufacture integrated refrigerators in 1994.
What is an Integrated Refrigerator?
An integrated refrigerator fits seamlessly within a 24 inch cabinet. Integrated refrigerators have become more popular as a style with Thermador, Liebherr and Viking already in an ever crowded niche.
They also pass all governmental energy requirements, which is becoming harder as well.
The doors on regular and professional shallow depths will protrude into the room. Have a look at a comparison:
Integrated Refrigerator / Freezer vs. Refrigerator Columns
Integrated products encompass the whole refrigerators with freezer or an all refrigerator or freezer column. Typically a column refrigerator is a single door unit, but Sub-Zero also manufacturers larger all refrigerator/freezer units with drawers.

New Sizes
The old series was only 27 and 36 inch width. The new series adds 24 and 30 inch widths. The 30 inch is available in columns or regular refrigerator/freezer.

New Features
In 2011, Sub-Zero introduced many of the features in their professional built-in’s. They have kept their two compressor arrangement and the warranty still lasts 12 years. Following are the best improvements.
- Air Purification: As foods age and spoil, they emit a gas. The air purification system scrubs the gasses off the food. Filtering not only keeps the food fresher for a longer, but it also eliminates cross contamination with other foods.
- Water filtration: Sub-Zero employs the best filter in the industry for crystal clear ice
- No Drip Nano Technology Coating: The shelves are coated so spills are absorbed and will not spread through the refrigerator
- Interior Water Dispenser (36 inch model only): This is unique in integrated refrigeration
Once again, Sub-Zero has set the standard on another category of refrigeration. We will compare it to it’s closest competitor Thermador shortly.
