Samsung values product design. You may already have one of their phones. Perhaps, they learned this from years of battling with Apple. You should certainly consider their products. Samsung has targeted appliances as their major growth driver for 2016.
On the other side of the spectrum is GE. Their Profile line, although successful, has not changed in almost a decade. Now, they are being acquired by Haier of China.
So, let's compare these two different companies and their slide-in ranges (I will even tell you when to buy them).
Samsung is a Korean based company founded in 1938 by Byung-Chull Lee originally as a food import and export, moving to televisions in the early 70’s and only a few years later brought their name to the appliance industry with their first laundry sets.
Here is a tip on buying Samsung: Look to purchase their products during holidays like Black Friday and President's Day where the prices can be 20%-30% less. Appliances seem to be following their electronics market strategy.
GE is one of the oldest American appliance companies, founded in 1892 by Thomas Edison, Charles A. Coffin, Elihu Thomson & Edwin J. Houston and located out of Louisville, Kentucky.
In many ways, GE is the polar opposite of Samsung. They have older, more legacy designs and target builders more so than consumers. We have not sold GE since 2013, but they still are a decent product line.
Here is a tip to buying GE: They have a little known Friends and Family Plan. You can buy their appliances online for 20-30% less through GE directly.
Now let's look at the product.

With its very clean, elegant, yet Sci-Fi like controls and slide-in design, this range right off the bat is striking, seriously striking.
More than style, you also have a couple features you don’t always find in ranges, such as a temperature probe for precise oven control and a proofing mode (low temperature baking) for a little help perfecting your baked goods and breads.
Honestly, one of the things that I think is great about this machine is that it's a straight forward front control range. You have a touch display with standard features and only a couple features that may not be standard such as multi-rack convection bake.
GE has more products to build around than Samsung with similar styling.
This is a very tough comparison between very different companies. Samsung has 2 power burners versus GE's one and better, more up to date styling than the older GE. The products are similar.
However, the when and where may determine what you buy. The prices can fluctuate incredibly depending on the time of the year. With similar products, you want to buy the one with the better price.
GE has their own service, so you will have a consistently average experience. Samsung service can be really good or non-existent depending on where you buy it.
