Written by Steve Sheinkopf | Jul 29, 2015 2:23:46 PM

What does a country style kitchen look like? It can be warm and welcoming. When I think of country I think of Americana, it is comfortable and natural looking.

If you love the warm welcoming comfortable feeling, country style may be the look you want to consider (and no you don't have to be in the country).

Hubbardton Forge of Rutland, VT

In country style you think big bright windows with all that natural light. But say you don’t have those big bright windows how would you light your kitchen?

In this photo the country feeling is inspired by the butcher block island and the warm colors of the cabinets. The lighting you could use recessed lighting (Halo 4” LED).

The pendants over the island is by Hubbardton Forge called the Erlenmeyer $360 each. The undercabinet lighting (GM Lighting tape) provides a nice glow on the counters.

Warm color cabinets with recessed lighting (4” Halo), pendants are Hubbardton Forge at $340 each. Chandelier over kitchen table is from Hubbardton Forge at $1,720. I like Hubbardton because the lights are all unique, hand forged and perfect for country style kitchens.

I love this look, very country and rustic looking. Under cabinet lighting will light up the wood back splash. The lantern on the side of the cabinet evokes that country look and doesn’t take away from the wood beams above with a hanging pendant.
