Bosch vs GE Monogram Dishwashers (Reviews/Ratings/Prices)

Written by Steve Sheinkopf | Aug 27, 2013 3:19:00 PM

Bosch and GE are two of the worlds largest companies. They have become increasingly competitive, especially in the high end. GE offers three premium lines: GE Cafe, GE Profile and GE Monogram. Bosch is represented by Thermador as well as the Bosch line. Although GE owns a wide edge in most product categories, dishwashers are very different.

GE Monogram

GE Monogram is the super premium line of GE with built-in refrigerators, professional ranges, wall ovens and cooktops. GE is builder, not consumer driven, and appeals mostly to that niche. GE is mostly manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. To be transparent, we do not sell any GE products.

Bosch

Bosch is a huge German company. Oddly enough, their American appliance division is manufactured in America. They also own the largest dishwasher manufacturing factory in the world, located in North Carolina.

Above all, Bosch is a dishwasher company. They were the first with quiet dishwashers, stainless tubs and integrated controls. Every year, Bosch will introduce a new, improved line of dishwashers, which is very unusual in the appliance industry.

Let's look at the two models...

Bosch vs GE Monogram Dishwashers

Both machines are similar in terms of appearance, cycle options, and capacity. They both hold 16 place settings and have heat boost. Bosch has the added third rack and is quieter at 48 DB vs 44 DB. From a feature benefit standpoint, Bosch is a better dishwasher.

It is also $700 cheaper. How is that possible (you are probably thinking)? As I said before, Bosch owns the largest and most efficient dishwasher plant in the world. Over the years, they used this scale to produce a superb, yet more affordable dishwasher. In recent years, you have seen this gap grow wider against less focused competition.
