Start Here

led replacement bulbI was surprised to read this article about light bulb hoarding on Boston.com. Then again, I should not be that surprised. What everyone is concerned about is the quality of light. As I have said, buy LED bulbs based on Kelvins. The best light is 2500 to 3200 Kelvin.

The flip side of the argument is energy efficiency. Lighting is 11% of your total energy bill. A 6-watt Futurelight is 3000 Kelvins and will last 40,000 hours. It has the rough equivalent of a 60-70 watt incandescent.

So let's compare:

Incandescent 60 watt costs (in Boston) at 20 cents per kilowatt hour in electricity..assuming 8 hours operation.

$2.98 per month

$36 per year

Multiply that times the amount of bulbs in your house.

Now look at LED

LED FutureLight 6 watt

.28 per month

$3.39 per year

There is no question LED bulbs are the better overall light source. Have a look at LED in our showroom.

Now stop hoarding and start saving, just buy your LED replacement bulbs by Kelvin.
