Brass is back everyone! Not the brass that our grandparents had in the 70’s but a softer, more aged tone of brass. It is more of an organic finish rather than an old fashioned relic.

We have been designing kitchens, baths, dining rooms and bedrooms with brass pendants for the past year and it seems to be catching on in a big way.
The days of everything “matching” are over. Just like shoes don’t have to match your bag anymore…nor do your lights and hardware.
Best Brass Kitchen Pendants

This pendant is used in the bath and kitchen often. I would do this in a half bath off the kitchen so the transition would speak to each other, decoratively speaking.
Arteriors "Garrison" Pendant - $450

I love using the pendants you would normally see over a kitchen island and show them in the unexpected powder room for an interesting twist. It is helpful in a room that lacks space for sconces to use lighting that hangs from the ceiling.

This pendant is very versatile and can be used in a dining room, kitchen or bedroom.

The Jennings by Crystorama is a Drum shade pendant with a brass geometric overlay in aged brass. It is available in a sconce or flush mount as well as 2 sizes of pendants. They also have a wall sconce, pendant and flush mount ceiling for low ceiling foyer.
Visual Comfort "Yoke" Pendant - $1,050

See how we can blend white and stainless with soft brass for an elegant touch to a simple kitchen? This pendant adds a strong and hardy statement to this traditional yet new kitchen.
Visual Comfort "Goodman" Pendant - $1,050

The Goodman pendant is probably the most popular pendant of this time. It is traditional but not overly stylized so it can be used so many kitchens. It is available in 4 sizes and 4 finishes.
Final Thoughts
As you can see brass isn't what you remember from decades past. It has evolved into a warm, elegant and very versatile finish for modern and transitional homes today.
Keep it in mind, when you need to throw an interesting element into the kitchen or bath.
Even if you don’t have brass anywhere in the home, we can help you use the brass beautifully in not only kitchens but baths, bedrooms, and foyers.
Brass is the antidote for the all white interior. Your house does not have to look like the Apple Store (unless you want).
