You may or may not heard of True, but it’s safe to say most of us have use their products without even knowing.

Grab a bottle of soda in any supermarket or convenience store and you are probably grabbing from a True commercial product.

True

They’re a staple in our supermarkets and convenience stores. In 1945 the Trulaske family built their first Rail Roll-Top Bottle cooler. By 1948 the 7UP company made their first order to store their Missouri warehouse. That legacy has driven True for over 70 years manufacturing of commercial refrigeration.

The standards for reliability in commercial seem better than residential. Most manufacturers do not want the liability of a Whole Foods or Trader Joes refrigerator case being broken. Have you ever seen a commercial refrigerator actually broken?

True Icemaker

New for 2015 True has introduced the most energy efficient ice machine on the market. The new True ice machine is capable of producing 70 pounds of ice per day to be stored in the 28 pound capacity. The current largest production is 60 pounds, while most are 40-45 pounds per day.

TUI-15-R-SS-B -- Right Hinge Model

Let's Look at the specs:

  • Zero clearance hinging
  • Built in water filter rated up to 1,250 gallons
  • Auto clean system
  • Ice scooper integrated inside door
  • 300 series stainless steel or panel ready
  • 70 lbs of Clear Ice in 28 lbs storage capacity
  • 14 TriLumina LED lighting

First, it is designed and manufactured to a different standard. True is UL approved to be placed inside or even outside. It is warrantied for three years with a 6 year limited part guarantee.

Like many decent icemakers, it filters impurities for clear ice. However, it has a built in pump to move the waste water to a drain. Pump models have much less drainage issues and service than regular gravity drained models (you can buy the others as an option).

Clear Ice vs. Regular Ice

True also offers an auto clean cycle, because icemakers should be cleaned 1 or 2 times a year.

It will look seamless with panels with the zero degree hinge and really fancy when opened. It has 14 different LED color settings.

Final Thoughts

True will be the dominant icemaker on the market, because it is the largest with the best warranty. The features are better than any residential icemaker. You will also like the commercial reliability.
