Best Black Friday Electric/Induction Cooking Products: Ranges/Cooktops

Black Friday was once reserved for electronics, jewelry and most every other item except appliances. That is until last year. Now, the appliance manufacturers have joined in the fray for your hard earned holiday dollar.

Electric ranges have really changed. Induction is a better technology, and with price reductions less traditional electric ranges are sold over $1000.

Electric Freestanding Ranges

Frigidaire once again dominates the value landscape with a basic range, 5-burner range and 5-burner convection range. The $1199 Bosch is different with European (third element) convection and a warming drawer.

Induction Freestanding Ranges and Cooktops

Jenn-Air JEI0536ADS $799 after $200 rebates (cooktop)	Maytag MIR8890AS $1499 after $170 rebates	Frigidaire FPCF3091LF $1689	Electrolux EW30IF60IS $2699

The real winner is the induction cooktop at $799, and the Maytag range with convection and a warming drawer. The Electrolux has more cooking modes, easier to understand controls and a second oven.

Induction/Electric Slide-In Ranges

Slide-In ranges have the controls on the front with no backguard, so it has a cleaner look in your kitchen. Jenn-Air is the low cost leader, but still offers convection and a warming drawer. Electrolux offers regular electric and induction ranges with great controls and second ovens.
